Thousands of dollars' worth of stolen property found at Kautzman residence

COLFAX, WA - Two men are in jail for possessing thousands of dollars of stolen goods that are linked to the recent rash of burglaries and break-ins in northern Whitman County.

According to the Whitman County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Keith Kautzman was arrested in Thornton on Thursday. He had his first appearance in court Friday morning, and Judge David Frazier set his bail at $500,000.

Deputies said they got a search warrant for his house and found thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, including a dirt bike, a dune buggy, laptops, and chainsaws. He was also living in a stolen fifth-wheel trailer. Deputies also found large amounts of cash, drug paraphernalia, and guns in the fifth-wheel.

Judge Frazier pointed out that Kautzman has two active felony warrants for possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.

Deputies also arrested 37-year-old Robert Dewbre in Spokane later Friday. He's in jail on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
