Three Idaho high schools selected to participate in College Application Week

LEWISTON, ID - Did you know high school students in Idaho are some of the least likely to head to college?

According to the National Institute for Higher Education, less than 50% of Idaho high school graduates pursue secondary education, one of the lowest rates in the country. To combat those jarring statistics, The Idaho State Board of Education is asking students to participate in College Application Week.

The state board selected 21-schools to participate in the pilot program which includes Lapwai High School, Grangeville High School and Orofino High School. Seniors at those schools are asked to apply to at least one college this week. If the program is successful, the board plans to expand the program statewide next year.
