Toys for Tots helped 2,600 kids have presents under tree

LEWISTON, ID - It's Christmas Eve and thanks to the Toys for Tots Foundation 2,600 children throughout Northern Idaho will wake up Christmas morning with gifts under their Christmas tree.

The gifts are due to an overwhelming amount of donations. Eight-thousand toys were distributed throughout the region these past few weeks making it so that each of the 2,600 kids in need received not just one, but three gifts this season.

"It was a great year," said Toys for Tots region two coordinator Jim White. "We helped a lot more children this year than we have in the past and I hope it gets even better every year."

According to White, this was the highest number of children in need of toys to date. White said that for every request received no one went home empty handed.
