Superintendent Christy Castro said that both the elementary and junior-senior high school will be closed all of Wednesday, so that janitors can disinfect everything inside the buildings. Castro said that the closure is simply a precaution, and that students who aren't showing symptoms will return to school on Thursday morning.
"We would like to ask parents if their students are ill, to keep them home and not have them return to school until there is no fever or illness for 24 hours without aspirin or ibuprofen."
According to Castro, 16% of the 315 students in the district missed school Tuesday and on Monday due to either the flu or a common cold. She also reported that 27% of teachers are home sick, and that there aren't enough substitutes to fill in for them.
