The fatal crash happened on Highway 9, north of Deary at about 9:00 a.m. Idaho State Police said that a Mazda sedan was trying to pass a farming vehicle when it was hit by oncoming traffic.
"The driver of the Mazda, heading northbound, turned around a swather, a farm implement, went into the oncoming lane, and was struck by the driver of the Dodge," said Idaho State Trooper Tim Conzak.
Both people in the sedan were severely injured. A Life Flight helicopter lifted one of them from the scene, but that person later passed away. The other driver of the pickup was uninjured. We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
