LEWISTON, ID - Did you know someone in the United States is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease every 67-seconds.

22,000 Idahoans are currently living with the disease, which is the sixth leading cause of death in Idaho. These unsettling facts are from the Alzheimer's Association, who is holding a town hall meeting in Lewiston Wednesday (today).

"Its expected that of the five-million Americans currently living with Alzheimer's disease; that number will double in the next twenty years," said Wedgewood Community Relations Director, Mark Havens. "Our government and our society need to be ready to cope with the consequences of that. It truly is an epidemic."

This event will be from 4:00-5:00 at Wedgewood Terrace. It's free and open to anyone who's interested in learning more about Alzheimer's.
