University towns welcome students

MOSCOW, ID - On the Palouse, many downtown businesses are looking forward to the return of the college students because they bring a significant boost in sales.

Some local business owners expressed their feelings during this back-to-school season. They said it's not just about the boost in business, but getting the opportunity to interact with the students.

"This is where it's all at," said Daily Grind and Licks Unlimited Co-Owner Dana Dykes. "This is the busiest time of the year, is when the students are around. It's going to be exciting; we're looking forward to it."

"I just get so excited, and I think part of it is, you know, as a recent graduate from U of I, there's some nostalgia," said Nourish Yoga and Smoothie Co-Owner Jessica Thomas. "Like, I remember what it's like to be a freshman. I remember what it's like to come down to Moscow."

Washington State University Students will start classes next Monday, and the University of Idaho will start their fall semester on August 26th.
