Debbie Baker with Valley Vision, a company that works to bring businesses and keep them here, said they've seen a significant improvement from 2008. Baker said over the past year, they've had an average of ten inquires per month from businesses that are interested in cities such as Lewiston and Clarkston.
"Our manufacturing sector is doing really well specifically our rec-tech," said Baker. "Which is all your sporting goods and your ammunition manufacturers. They're doing extremely well right now."
When asked about the local mom and pop shops that seem to not be doing as well, Baker said entrepreneurial strategies are changing and in order to stay competitive, smaller businesses need to take advantage of social media marketing.
