Walla Walla Community College gets ready for new school year

CLARKSTON, WA - Students were buzzing around Walla Walla Community College in Clarkston on Friday to get ready for the first day of school.

Orientation was held in preparation for classes that start Monday, to get new students acquainted with the campus.

Clarkston Center Director Janet Danley said her staff is excited to get classes going.

"It's all new," said Danley. "We're starting new classes, we have new faculty, new student faces to greet. And it's just an exciting time."

The community college was recently named a finalist for the 2013 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. This distinction, which they've received two years in a row, signifies community colleges in the nation that show high achievement.
