Whitman Co. Sheriff's Office confirms body is Stapert

COLFAX, WA - The Whitman County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the body found in North Spokane County near Chattaroy is that of 17-year-old Donavin Stapert.

Stapert was reported missing on March 8th, and his body was located on Wednesday. Three arrests have been made in relation to the controlled substance homicide.

Friday morning, thirty-year-old James Ramson of Spokane plead not guilty to a first degree count of Attempted Rendering Criminal Assistance, and Unlawful Disposal of human remains. Thursday, 38-year-old Chastity Barkhuff of Malden pled not guilty to the charges of Controlled Substance Homicide, Providing a Controlled Substance to a minor, and Unlawful Disposal of Human Remains. Authorities are expecting the third arrested suspect to be extradited from Missoula, Montana in the near future.
