Wilson sentenced to five years in prison for aggravated assault

LEWISTON, ID - A Lapwai man is headed to prison for no less than five years for his involvement in the Normal Hill shooting this past spring.

Michael Wilson, 26, stood trial in December for attempted murder after kicking a door down and firing a gun at a Lewiston man who at the time was dating his ex-girlfriend.

Wilson was found guilty for the lesser charges of aggravated assault and burglary. A sentence of no less than four years and no more than 12 was handed down for the aggravated assault, plus a weapons enhancement charge.

In the court document obtained by KLEW, under count one it also states Wilson won't be eligible for parole or discharge or reduction of sentence for good conduct. As for the burglary conviction, Wilson was sentenced to no less than one year and no more than three.

Wilson does have the right to appeal his sentence to the Idaho Supreme Court.
