Winchester man pleads not guilty for alleged murder of mother

LAPWAI, ID - A Winchester man accused of murdering his 66-year-old mother pleaded not-guilty in Nez Perce Tribal Court.

Kenneth Broncheau, 47, was in Lapwai Tuesday morning, though he did not officially appear in court. He's currently being held for the alleged murder of Carol Haskell, in which she was shot twice and then set on fire.

He faces charges of murder, aggravated domestic battery, and aggravated arson charges. A weapons offense charge he was originally cited for was dropped.

Broncheau's pre-trial date is set for late July.
