Woman changing oil was murdered, prosecutors say

MARSING, Idaho (KBOI) - At first glance, police say the death of a 35-year-old Marsing woman was accidental.

After closer inspection, however, police say the April 2012 death was murder.

Doug Emergy, Owyhee County prosecutor, said Bibbey was found dead at her home. When investigators arrived, they found her pinned under a vehicle.

Someone at the home told officials that Bibbey was changing the oil when the jack slipped and the car fell. It appeared at the time to be accidental.

Emery said there's evidence that it might be homicide. He wouldn't clarify further.

On Thursday, Idaho State Police said detectives are looking for information into the death of Trina Bibbey as they now believe she was murdered. Investigators have several leads in the case. ISP is also working with officials in Owyhee County.
