Women's Connection, a group connecting local women to make a difference, raised money for the Northwest Children's Home. On Saturday the group hosted local women and their daughters for a slumber party. The funds for the event raised enough money to buy each and every girl new bedding at the Northwest Children's Home.
"They're girls that are getting a second chance and we just want them to know that there's people out there that care about them that are excited for this opportunity that they have," said Women's Connection Vice President Rebecca Sarmiento. "I'm so happy that I can tell people that we have Northwest Children's Home in our town."
Local women and former Northwest Children's Home members spoke about their experiences and challenges as women.
