WSU Ad Club students reach for goal of "Largest Shoe Drive Ever"

PULLMAN, WA - If you're in the Spring cleaning spirit, you may want to consider going through your old shoes and donating them to a good cause.

Washington State University's advertising club has a goal to raise 2,000 pairs of shoes over the next three weeks, and they're hoping to make it the school's "Largest Shoe Drive Ever." The shoes will go to the Mission Community Outreach center in Spokane, and they'll be donated to low-income families in the area.

"It's kind of a way to give back to the community in a non-traditional way," said WSU Advertising Club President Krista Voyvodic. "Instead of doing a clothing drive, or a canned food drive, we wanted to do something that people definitely have to donate, but that's a little bit different."

They're looking for new or gently used shoes of any size. You'll find drop off locations in the communications addition, and various other places around campus until April 12th. The students are also willing to pick up donations around Pullman. If you're interested in donating, contact the WSU Ad Club President Krista Voyvodic at
