Despite currently having a 0-3 record, Head Coach Paul Petrino is adamant that his team is learning more and more every week.
As they get set to take on a Washington State University defense who has shined in the past three weeks. One extreme positive on the offensive side of the ball is starting quarterback Chad Challich has not thrown an interception all season. Combine his accuracy with the legs of Quarterback Joshua McCain, and the duo has the potential to fly past defenses.
As much as this battle should be considered a rivalry, Head Coach Paul Petrino is pretty much just looking at this as another game against a tough opponent.
"Any time you have two schools that close together and they've done a really good job, they're probably a little ahead of schedule," said Petrino. "They probably went through a little bit of last year what we're going through right now, and they're ahead of schedule to turn it around right now. They're gonna' be a real good football team for years to come with Coach Leach coaching them, and we just have to do everything we can to compete and find a way to beat them."
The Vandals are hoping to put win number one onto their 0-3 record Saturday at Martin Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
