Akey confirms seeking a fair resolution with filed lawsuit

MOSCOW, ID - Former University of Idaho Football Coach Robb Akey has filed a lawsuit against his former employer.

The University of Idaho, The School's Board of Regents and the Idaho State Board of Education have all been named as defendants in the case, which was filed in Latah county.

Akey confirmed with KREM news that the lawsuit was filed, and said quote "All I'm looking for is getting the money I earned. I'm not looking for anything more than that. I just want a fair resolution." end of quote.

According to court records, the case was filed on April 16th and the original judge disqualified himself. A new one has since been assigned to the case.

The former head coach was dismissed by the Moscow based university in October of 2012. Akey earned an annual salary of nearly $166,000. His contract was set to continue until December 2014.
