Blackwell transitions from L-C Warrior player to assistant coach

LEWISTON, ID - Making the immediate jump from player to coach in any sport is a tough transition, but one thing that doesn't change is the goal.

"Winning, you know, same as a player," said LCSC Baseball Assistant Coach, Kyle Blackwell.

And winning is exactly what former Lewis-Clark State catcher and current assistant coach Kyle Blackwell is helping his team do this year. Blackwell is assisting with the catchers and hitters on this year's team after overcoming injuries last year to have a solid season as a player.

On the season last year, he held a 297 batting average, and went 35 for 69 at the plate to finish the season. He tells us about one of the biggest changes from player to coach.

"Time, a lot more time," said Blackwell. "Love is though, really glad I get to come to this place to work everyday so, couldn't ask for a better office, you know."
