Bowl scores from top-25 teams in the country

LEWISTON, ID - With the beginning of the year, we're just days away from the College Football National Championship.

So while we're still in full-fledged bowl season, let's check out some of the bowl scores from top-25 teams around the country.

Starting with the Outback Bowl, number 16 ranked LSU beat unranked Iowa in a close one 21-14. If you were able to see any of Wednesday's Capitol One Bowl featuring ninth ranked South Carolina and and number 19 Wisconsin, it certainly was a good one, but South Carolina would take it 34-24.

In everyone's favorite Gator Bowl, we were on upset alert as unranked Nebraska takes down number 22 Georgia 24-19, while there was an expected win in the Valero Alamo Bowl as tenth ranked Oregon downs Texas 30-7.

How about another upset? That's what the National University Holiday Bowl brought us as unranked Texas Tech beat down number 14 Arizona State 37-23. Now how about a real beat down in the Hyundai Sun Bowl, number 17 UCLA destroyed Virginia Tech 42-12.

Another expected win in the Russell Athletic Bowl as number 18 Louisville downed a once-prominent Miami Hurricanes team 36-9, while we saw a ranked upset in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl as number 25 USC stunned number 20 Fresno State 45-20.

We saw an instant classic in the Chick-fil-a Bowl as number 21 Texas A&M barely got the w against 24 Duke, 52-48. And lastly, for now, another upset as 23 Northern Illinois falls to Utah State 21-14 in the SD County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. More results to come as the games roll on!
