Cougs get blown out in Holiday Bowl
SAN DIEGO, CA —
Heading in to the Holiday Bowl, Washington State football was short-handed and that’s no pun intended.
Quarterback Luke Falk was out with a hand injury.
Consensus All-American Hercules Mata’afa didn’t play in the first half, finishing a targeting suspension.
Both leading wide receivers? Off the team.
And it showed.
The No. 16 ranked Michigan State Spartans completely dominated the no. 18 Cougs 42-17 on Thursday, preventing the Cougs from achieving a 10-win season.
Michigan State quarterback Brian Lewerke threw three touchdowns with zero intercepts against the Speed D.
Washington State if officially in the off-season.
