Daugherty earns contract extension through 2018-19 WSU basketball season

PULLMAN, WA - While the men's program has seen some major changes in the past few weeks, the Cougar women will see some consistency for even longer!

Washington State Director of Athletics Bill Moos extended head women's basketball coach June Daugherty's contract through the 2018-19 season on Tuesday.

Daugherty led the Cougars to one of the best seasons in program history, earning a trip to the WNIT, the program's first postseason appearance since 1991, and 17 wins, the most since 1995-96. Under Daugherty, Washington state has reached the Pac-12 conference tournament semifinals in two of the last three seasons, seen at least two players earn All-Academic honors in each of the last six years and four players sign professional contracts to play overseas in the last two summers.
