The Idaho Vandals men’s basketball team got its first win of the season.

The Vandals hosted the George Fox Bruins on Monday and the Vandals poured on the scoring, eventually.

The Bruins lead 22-17 midway through the first half, in large part to Mason Green-Richards hitting 5/6 3-pointers all in the first half.

But the Vandals would go on a huge run.

Green-Richards wasn’t the only one hitting threes on Monday.

Idaho senior guard Vic Sanders made 6/7 shots behind the arc, finishing the game with 29 points.

Sanders was the only Vandal to shine.

Forward Nate Sherwood got himself a double-double, scoring 28 points while grabbing 13 rebounds.

Also, Arkadiy Mkrytychyan didn’t play in the game.

According to Vandals Athletics, he dislocated his knee in practice on Sunday. He’s expected to be out for 2-4 weeks.

Vandals will play again on Saturday, against Sam Houston State at 7 PM.
