The Inland Empire Championship Cross Country meet was held this past Saturday in the Lewiston orchards and it brought out teams from all over the place. Teams from Washington State, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, and the University of Idaho were there representing Division 1 schools, while Lewis-Clark State, Carroll College, Idaho College, and many others represented the non-Division 1 schools.
Overall, the fourth-ranked Lewis-Clark State men's team won their division behind the first-place finish of junior Sam Atkin, who smashed his eight-kilometer personal best time by nearly 90 seconds. The number 14 Warriors finished second in their division behind #2 College of Idaho, powered by the seventh-place run turned in by Alyssa Rapovy.
The Warriors will have next week off to prepare for the Frontier Conference meet on November eighth in Lewiston.
