Kibbie Dome getting new turf, will host UI soccer team
MOSCOW, ID —
The Idaho Vandal soccer program has had much success since the arrival of its current Coach, Derek Pittman, and now the Vandals have announced that their program will make history before ever stepping foot on the field this fall.
The Vandals are set to become the first division one program in the entire country to play their home games exclusively indoors. Coach Pittman and the Vandals will move from Guy Wicks Field to the friendly confines of the Kibbie Dome beginning this fall. The move means improvements are coming to the Dome that won’t just benefit the soccer team but the football team as well. New turf will be installed, stretching from corner to corner of the doom floor to allow enough room for the 118-yard by 70-yard field. The University has chosen a matrix synthetic turf that will be installed in June just in time for the beginning of fall camps.
