Lavalli & Shriley selected as first-team NAIA All-Americans

LEWISTON, ID - Well the Warriors wouldn't have made it as far as they did if it weren't for the play of two very special players.

Lewis-Clark State College seniors Cody Lavalli and Jake Shirley were selected as first-team NAIA All-Americans on Monday. Lavalli returned to the Warriors for his senior season after being drafted in the 37th round of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft by the Texas Rangers, and resumed his role as the Warriors' cleanup hitter and right fielder by batting .361 with a team-high 13 home runs in 2014, while also driving in 44 runs.

Shirley led Lewis-Clark State with a .391 batting average and had a team-high 90 hits from the lead-off spot in the Warrior batting order. He also added four home runs and 48 RBI, along with a team-high 18 doubles.

Warrior outfielder Ryan Sells was an honorable mention selection as well.
