LCSC Warriors shortstop Bobby Joe Tannehill ripped it up on the baseball diamond this past weekend, and that earned him the NAIA West Player of the Week honor. Tannehill went 10 for 17 this past weekend in a split series against the University of British Columbia. On Sunday, he did something that most ballplayers will never be able to lay claim to by hitting home-runs from both sides of the plate. On the season, Tannehill is batting .310 with 29 RBI's and is fielding an astounding 9-50 at shortstop! Head Coach Jeremiah Robbins loves everything about his star infielder, while Tannehill puts all his credit into the team.
"Second year here, been through some ups and some downs," said Tannehill. "Coming up and having a really good weekend, and helping my team come through in the end, that's big for me, helping your team out."
"He's a very good human being," said Robbins. "A good teammate, and one of those players that I will always remember throughout my coaching career."
Bobby Joe and the rest of the Warriors team will take the field once again this weekend for the Inland Cellular Tournament.
