Though they're only two spring practices in, University of Idaho Football Head coach Paul Petrino said he's already seen a major improvement in the energy level of his team compared to last year at this time. Both sides of the ball seemed to be flying around a little faster while the comfort level was high and player's assignments came a little more naturally. In fact, the energy was so high, the offensive and defensive lines got into a little scuffle in the middle of team drills, something Petrino wasn't even upset with.
"Thought it was just a couple silly things, I want the energy, I don't want the energy to stop," said Petrino. "But we don't want to be getting anyone hurt when we don't have full pads either, but that was good, I don't think I ever had to do that last year. Feels good that the energy was flying around and they were getting after it so we just gotta keep improving."
After a makeup practice Tuesday, the Vandals will jump back on the practice field Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
