Vandals complete physical first scrimmage
MOSCOW, ID —
It was a good day on all accounts for the Idaho Vandals who completed their first scrimmage of the spring. Matt Linehan completed over 70-percent of his passes for 281-yards while the Vandals ran the ball at will.
Isaiah Saunders toted the ball 11 times for 51-yards while speedster Dylan Thigpen ran for 76-yards but it was the hitting and aggressiveness which impressed Paul Petrino the most.
"There was a lot of intensity,” said Coach Petrino. “You heard the pads popping and I thought the defense flew around and hit hard. Offense was running hard and blocking hard. Our linebackers always stand out cuz they're really good players, running around and do things but I thought our o-line, for as young as we are. Especially those early periods, 20-yards in I almost called a run every single play so I thought that really helped our o-line and our running backs."
The Vandals next scrimmage is Friday, April 21 at Bengal Field here in Lewiston beginning at 5:30p.m.
