RENO, NV – The Idaho women’s basketball team beat the Portland State Vikings on Friday, paving a way for them to get back to the Big Sky title game.

Vandals were victorious, winning 102-99.

Idaho was able to get past them, thanks to lights out shooting from the Splash Sisters, Mikayla Ferenz and Taylor Pierce.

As a team, Idaho made 52 percent of their 3-pointers, in large part to Ferenz and Pierce making most of them.

“Shooter shoot,” junior guard Mikayla Ferenz said. “That what we always say.”

Pierce set a Big Sky tournament record, hitting nine 3-pointers in the game.

“You just come into this environment and it’s always exciting and it’s not really hard to get pumped up,” Pierce said.

Idaho will play Northern Colorado on Saturday for the Big Sky title.

The played twice during the regular season, and they both beat each other.

But there’s probably more on the line tonight.
