Vandals show their stuff at pre-scrimmage practice

MOSCOW, ID - As the first set of games for college football get closer, the scrimmages started last weekend.

Friday the Vandals were in full pads for the first time this Fall as they get set for Saturday's scrimmage. The hitting appeared to be reserved until Saturday's scrimmage as there were a couple pops, but no giant hits for the most part.

Overall, Head Coach Paul Petrino was displeased with Friday's practice, and will be looking for those who truly want to get on the field for game day in Saturday's scrimmage.

"We're just looking for some guys to come out and play hard and be aggressive really," said Petrino. "We're looking for guys that are being tough and being physical and give great effort. I wanna' see great effort grades that are really high, and there are some guys that are battling so it'll be a big role and as much as anything I wanna see great effort and toughness."

Saturday's scrimmage will be on the practice field right outside of the Kibbie Dome at 10 a.m. Chad Challich is expected to get the first reps at quarterback for the day, but we will all have to wait to see how the depth chart plays out.
