Warriors win on day one at Porter Park Classic Tournament

LEWISTON, ID - The Warrior Baseball team is off to a good start in their first road trip of the season.

Partially thanks to a huge two-run shot by Cody Lavalii in the sixth inning, the Lewis-Clark State Baseball team defeated Montana State University Billings on day one of the Porter Park Classic Tournament in Portland, Oregon.

Yellowjacket starting pitcher Drew Christina had notched 10 strikeouts and was cruising with a four-hit shutout on Friday until Jake Shirley singled in the sixth, followed by Lavalli's long-ball.

On the Warrior side, Michael Noteware got the start and went five innings, surrendering two hits, one run, and four walks, while striking out six. Despite those good numbers, David Murillo would get the win for L-C after he gave up two hits and a walk and struck out three in three innings.
