Western Athletic Conf. announce "Athlete of the Week" names

MOSCOW, ID - Two University of Idaho track and field stand-outs have earned "Athlete of The Week" honors from the Western Athletic Conference.

Vandal junior Hannah Kiser was named the WAC Women's Track Athlete of The Week while junior Kyle Rothwell was chosen as the WAC Men's Field Athlete of The Week.

This past Saturday Kiser broke the WAC all-time record and Idaho school record in the women's 3,000 meter with a time of 904.74, the fifth fastest in the NCAA this season. Rothwell hit a career-best mark of 62-10 on Friday at the Husky Classic. The mark is the best in the WAC this season and beat his previous best by nearly one full foot. This is the sixth time Kiser has been named athlete of the week in her career and the first for Rothwell.
