WSU football is top ten in the country
PULLMAN, WA —
For the third time in the Mike Leach era, the Washington State Cougars football team is bowl eligible.
Well, that's an understatement. The Cougs are now in the eighth ranked team in the country, according to this week's AP poll.
The Cougs are now 6-0 for the first time since 2003.
Their latest win came against the Oregon Ducks.
The Cougs first road game proved to be a strong defensive performance, beating Oregon 33-10 (even though Oregon was playing a true freshman quarterback).
The Speed-D held Oregon’s Braxton Burnmeister to 145 yards passing, with four sacks, and two interceptions.
Also, QB Luke Falk rewrote another passing record in the game.
Falk is now second in Pac-12 history for most touchdown passes in a career, passing Oregon’s Marcus Mariota.
He needs just nine more to surpass former USC quarterback Matt Barkley.
