Not only is a capable quarterback required, but he needs weapons to throw to. Receivers like Gabe Marks, Isiah Myers, and Kristoff Williams helped the Cougar quarterbacks to throw for a combined 749 yards at last Saturday's Crimson and Gray Game. Leach is happy to see the progress his wide-outs have made in the spring while Kristoff Williams focuses on consistency.
"As a receiver group I think you just work on catching, being more consistent, and our coach is honest about yards after catch is the big thing," said Williams. "So, breaking tackles is a big thing."
"I think he's had a pretty steady spring, Gabe Marks has had a good spring," said Leach. "I think Dominique Williams has had a good spring, and some of those young guys have come along pretty good."
The Cougs finished up their last spring practice Tuesday and will prepare for impending summer camp.
