Xavier Cooper receives Defensive Lineman of the Week award

PULLMAN, WA - On the Cougar side, one of their defensive players on the football team had a heck of a game last week, and he's now being recognized for it.

Washington state defensive end Xavier Cooper was named the Defensive Lineman of the Week according to the College Football Performance Awards.

The red-shirt sophomore tallied a career-high eight tackles including one and a half sacks, forced one fumble and recovered another fumble which he returned 29 yards for a touchdown at #2 Oregon this past Saturday. On the season, Cooper has 29 tackles including a team-high eight and a half tackles-for-loss and is tied for the team lead with three sacks.
