Zags to have hands full with SDSU's Daum in tourney opener
SPOKANE, WA —
When the Gonzaga Bulldog’s pulled up a chair and sat in front of their big screen TV last night, they knew exactly what they’d learn. They’d be a number-one seed, and would be placed in the west region. The only real question was who the Zags would play.
As it turned out, the NCAA couldn’t have pitted the Zags against a more dangerous 16 seed, sending South Dakota State to Salt Lake City to tussle with GU. The Bulldogs are posed to make a deep run in the tournament will have to deal with the nation’s second leading scorer Mike Daum, nicknamed the ‘Daum-anator’ the six-foot-nine forward averages over 25 points per game as a sophomore on just 15 field goal attempts per game.
Thursday’s game in Salt Lake City is scheduled for 11:00AM start on TBS.
