Air quality impacting high school football scheduling
CLARKSTON, WA —
The air quality is listed as very unhealthy, according to airnow.gov, causing a high school football game to reschedule.
The match-up between the Troy Trojans and Lapwai Wildcats has been moved from Lapwai.
It'll now be played on Thursday in the Kibbie Dome. Kick-off is set for 5:30 pm.
With the poor air quality, it leaves outdoor sports such as football practicing indoors.
We spoke to Clarkston football head coach Brycen Bye about the hazardous air and his players.
"That's why we're inside, we can't legally be outside, Bye said. “But if we we’re practicing outside right now it wouldn't be a good issue for anybody. And I know pretty much every area school is going through the same thing."
We'll have more updates on reschedules if they come.
The smoke on the Palouse has effected both the University of Idaho and Washington State football teams.
Both teams have been practicing indoors.
