Bengals sweep double-dip with Lakeland

The Riley Way led Lewiston Bengals in action this afternoon (Wednesday) at Church Field after taking game one of a doubleheader from Lakeland. We had a good one in game two.

Bengals trail by one in the sixth when Jared Driskill is gonna try to get the tying run into scoring position and the throw is gonna get by the second baseman right under his glove, runners will advance to second and third with just one out. After a Riley Way walk to load ‘em up, it’s Jaden Phillips he goes the other way, two runs are gonna score and the Bengals had the lead!

Short time later Wyatt Baldwin, I think his teammates call him ‘baldy’ and baldy was doing lofty things. Riley Way trots home. Phillips gonna be thrown out by a mile but the Bengals would enter the seventh with a two-run lead nonetheless! Riley Way into close this thing out, winning run at the play and Way gets him looking.

Bengals sweep away Lakeland to improve to 9-2. They’re next in action Saturday afternoon.
