Lapwai earns 9th state title in win over Prairie
LAPWAI, ID —
It had been 11 years since the Lapwai boys basketball team sat atop the basketball world in the state of Idaho. And despite a valiant effort by Prairie, the Lapwai Wildcats were crowned state champions on Saturday in the 1A-D1 State Championship game.
Ivory Miles-Williams overcame a dislocated finger to finish with 13 points while Emmitt Taylor added 13 for the Wildcats who finally got over the hump after losing in the title game each of the last three years. The championship for Lapwai is their ninth in school history.
