Volleyball action across the Valley and Palouse

CLARKSTON V. LEWISTON VB VO.jpg

The Battle of the Bridges extends to the volleyball court!

On Thursday, the Lewiston Bengals hosted the Clarkston Bantams.

Last Friday, the Bengals beat the Bantams in football.

But could Clarkston volleyball make up for it?

Lewiston won the first set.

Second set? This one was a true battle.

Lewiston jumped out to a nine-point lead but the Bantams would fight back.

Going to the wire, Lewiston wins set two.

In the third set, it looked like the Bengals would pull away, starting out with a 7-0 lead.

But the Bantams said not tonight.

Bantams looked like they would come all the way back to take the third.

But the lead was just too large at times.

Bengals win in straight sets 3-0.

For a game that went 3-0, this was a close one.

VANDALS:

Bengals weren't the only ones to win straight sets in the state of Idaho.

The Idaho Vandals volleyball started Big Sky play on the right foot on Thursday.

Vandals won in straight sets, beating the Montana State Bobcats 3-0.

Idaho basically dominated the whole thing.

First set, Bobcats scored 19, second, 14, and third, only 12.

On Saturday, Idaho will host the Montana Grizzlies.

WARRIORS:

LCSC volleyball is also in conference play.

Well, they've been in it for about a week.

This Friday, LCSC have its first home conference game.

They'll host Rocky Mountain.

But, the Warriors are still looking for that first conference win.

They lost their first two conference games to Carroll College and Montana Tech.
