Young leads Idaho past Washington in Battle at the Border
CLARKSTON, WA —
Time to put a cap on the high school basketball season. The Battle at The Border in Clarkston held tonight, Idaho leads the all-time series 4-3.
Southeast Washington trying to even it up at four and they get an early three from Colton’s Meghan Devorak but Idaho responds with a three of their own. Iris Domebo finding Koyama Young, that duo combined for 31 tonight and Idaho led by one.
Later in the first, Idaho building its lead, Orofino’s Myra Rodriguez muscles for two. Then Rodriguez pulls up for three, the senior finished with 12 but she’d get a hand from McKenzie Kennedy who hits from distance.
But Washington would stay close, Parker Warwick converts on the lay-up in transition to pull the blue team to within a single possession. But Koyama Young will work into the paint. Her jumper goes in and Idaho whoops up on Southeast Washington, 74-45.
