Mariners blow 5-run lead in loss to Houston
SEATTLE, WA —
Seattle Mariners looking to avoid losing for the eighth time in their first ten games tonight (Wednesday) hosting Houston. M’s up 2-0 in the second when the man the Mariners called up to replace Jean Segura does this…a majestic fly out to right field for Mike Freeman. The kids first big-league blast and the Mariners were up 3-0.
Third inning now, same score when Taylor Motter, the man filling in for Jean, steps up and steps out. Mike Fiers could hardly make it out of the fourth inning and Seattle had built themselves a five-run lead.
But the Stros go to work, Tyler Reddick into left…5-3 Mariners. Then Carlos Correa, that scores another run and it was tied at five. And then it’s Alex Bregman, Houston nabs the lead. The Stros would score ten unanswered after falling behind 5-0 to win it 10-5.
