Mariners complete comeback for sweep of Rangers
SEATTLE, WA —
Similar to the LC-State Warriors, the Seattle Mariners have caught fire with their recent play, sitting at 2-8 entering play Friday.
The Mariners ripped off three straight wins over the Easter weekend to sweep the Texas Rangers. On Saturday James Paxton extended his scoreless innings streak to start the season, firing eight shutout innings in Seattle’s second straight win.
The M’s wouldn’t get much help in the pitching department on Sunday but Nelson Cruz’s walk-off infield single sealed a five-run come from behind win for the Mariner win.
The M’s now enter Monday night’s series opener with Miami with a 5-8 record overall, good for fourth in the division. Ariel Miranda will get the ball for Seattle tonight against Marlins righty Tom Koehler. First pitch is set for 7:10.
