Royals overcome Segura's 3-hit day to pound M's
SEATTLE, WA —
We all know that non-regular season games are meaningless, that includes spring training, but that doesn’t mean that the Seattle Mariners two-for-two start in Cactus League play over the weekend wasn’t any fun.
The M’s looking to get to 3-0 to start spring for the first time in more than 15 years. Newly acquired Yovani Gallardo still getting comfortable wearing a teal colored uni and just getting his reps in today. He’d get beat-up a big, this time by Eric Hosmer who pulls one down the first baseline, scoring is Paulo Orlando. Yo worked one inning, allowing four runs….they were all earned.
Bottom of the first, it’s Jean Segura, he shoots the line into left scoring on the play is the former Royal Jarrod Dyson and it was 4-1. Segura wasn’t done however, very next inning with one on and Jean is going to send this one out onto the berm out in left center. Segura finished with a three-hit game, but luckily for the Mariners this one ends after seven due to rain as the Royals win big, 14-3.
