Seattle wins fourth straight in win over Miami
SEATTLE, WA —
The Seattle Mariners were one of the league’s biggest surprises but for all the wrong reasons. Seattle got off to a 2-8 start, but they’d carry their momentum from their weekend sweep into tonight’s (Monday) interleague series opener with Miami.
The Mariners honoring one of their own, Ichiro returning to Seattle, only this time as a member of the Marlins and they wouldn’t greet left fielder very nicely. First inning, Robbie Cano, don’t ya know two-run blast is his second of the year, 2-0 M’s. But they ain’t done yet, three pitches later Nelson Cruz…boom stick baby, Mariners were ahead 3-0 looking to win their fourth straight.
We head to the fourth, Mariners on cruise control and you can’t spell Cano without an ‘O’…Robbie to the opposite field in left, Ichiro can’t track this one down. Jarrod Dyson will score and then as if a 5-0 lead wasn’t enough, Taylor Motter does this! Mariners win again, this time taking down the Fish 6-1.
