Carlton ends wrestling career on a high note

LEWISTON, ID - For Josh Carlton and the rest of the Lewiston High School wrestling team, the season may have started a little rocky.

However, by the end of the season, the Bengals won there first state team title in school history. Josh says the ending to his senior year couldn't be any better.

"It's amazing since wrestling has been my life since fifth grade." said Carlton. "To go out like this is really awesome and it's great to be a part of something like this. It's just a great feeling."

To make things even better, Josh won his second straight individual state title. He says the feeling of standing on the podium again is one he'll never forget.

"It felt unreal to me at first, it felt like I actually did this." said Carlton. "So many things feel off my shoulders. It was just an awesome feeling, very emotional though."

Looking back on his career with Lewiston's wrestling team, Josh says he wouldn't change a single minute of it.

"You make some mistakes and you fix those mistakes and get better." said Carlton. "You lose, you win. You have to lose some to win some. I definitely lost some and I definitely won some and I would not change any of that. I got two state championships so I feel pretty good."
