McConnel thanks community for support

CLARKSTON, WA - Senior KC McConnel and the Clarkston High School girls basketball team brought home the first ever 2A State championship in school history.

KC said it means a lot for the team, but even more for the community.

"It's pretty special to bring it back to the community just knowing they've never had something like this before." said McConnel. "It's pretty nice to have that feeling you that you've helped the whole city, not just your school."

As much as KC and the rest of the Lady Bantams give to the community, the Bantam faithful of Clarkston are not shy about giving it back. KC said the community support has made all the difference in the world.

"It means a ton, their support." said McConnel. "It's kind of like we're just a big family in this community and it really shows in this championship."

While KC hasn't picked the school yet, she said that she does intend to play at the college level. Before taking that next step though, she has one final message for the Bantam fans.

"Just thanks a lot for all that you've done." said McConnel. "It really shows how much you impact a school when you can allow the team to get a championship like this. It's pretty nice. It's a big trophy and it's a big accomplishment. I'll never forget it."
