P1FCU Prep Athlete of the Week: Noah Renzelman
ASOTIN, WA —
The Asotin sophomore Noah Renzelman can do it all for his Panthers: pitching, hitting and even fielding, starting from his tee-ball days, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I don’t know back when I was young, I started playing it and I just ended up liking and pursing it,” He said. “Just the feeling of the intensity. You don’t know when the ball is coming to you until it’s there and you have to react.”
And he and his teammates have reacted well, riding a five game-winning streak.
“It feels pretty good,” He said. “Thinking every game you could lose and ruin your record.”
The Panthers must have been thinking that these past few games.
Four out of the last five games, the Panthers have shut-out their opponents.
And in terms of competition, there’s a battle within the team.
“I’m having an RBI battle with one of my teammates,” he said.
He and senior Elliott Marks are battling to see who can bat in more runners.
And so far, it sounds like Renzelman has the upperhand.
“He’s got 13 and I’ve got 15,” he said.
Since he’s still got a lot of time left, he’s just enjoying the rest of his high school career.
“Honestly, it’s probably just being out there, knowing I can play this sport and having fun with it,” he said.
This Friday, the Panthers look to extend their winning streak, taking on the Colfax Bulldogs.
