We talk to a local softball player who will attend LCSC with a goal of helping those with special needs. Let's meet this week's P1FCU "Prep Athlete of the Week" Lewiston High's Paige Wells.
The Lewiston High Softball team is getting a lot of run production from their senior shortstop.
"I've been doing pretty good," said Wells. "Hitting pretty good, I guess."
What's good... like a 300 or 350 average?
"617," said Wells.
617 that's ridiculous! How is that possible?
"I don't know, I just swing the bat and get a hit, I guess," said Wells.
If only it were that easy for all of us! She's also putting up good numbers in the classroom.
"Three something, I don't know," said Wells. "I honestly don't know."
As for where she will be taking that three something GPA next school year?
"I'm gonna go to L-C," said Wells. "I think I want to go into special education. I just, I've always been interested in it and I actually liked it so I think I'm gonna do that."
A great major to study. And how about continuing her athletic career?
"I don't know," said Wells. "I just don't have the motivation to, I just want to focus on school."
In her rare free time, it's all friends and family.
"Hang out with friends and just, anything, whenever we have an idea, we just go do that," said Wells. "And then I help my sister with all her sports too, so."
Though she denies having one, she hints at having a nickname on the team.
"Paigey...I don't really have a nickname," said Wells. "Just Paige."
As for her heroes, she gives a common answer, though always a good one.
"Probably my parents," said Wells. "I like look up to them, and I wanna be like them and they just inspire me and push me to do what I want to do and all that kind of stuff."
For everything she does and is going to do for her school and community, we congratulate Lewiston High Senior Paige Wells for being selected as this week's P1FCU "Prep Athlete of the Week!"
"It means a lot," said Wells. "It's cool that people think of me that way, makes me feel good about myself."
