Playing tennis doubles is Shayla Robinson's favorite sport

PULLMAN, WA - Pullman High School Greyhound Shayla Robinson gives it her all every time she suits up.

"It's just cool to be nominated for this to know the hard work is paying off," said Robinson.

Shayla and her doubles partner, Brittani, have been playing together for years, and have become an inseparable force.

"She and I have been playing for three years and so we don't play singles," said Robinson.

They're a great team because both of them work hard to take their game to the next level.

"We've been working really hard trying to improve and tennis has become our favorite sport," said Robinson.

Shayla not only shines in athletics but also academics.

"I have a 3.986 GPA and so one A-," said Robinson.

And what about her post-high school plan? Well, she continues to accept nothing but the best in that area as well.

"I'm going to go to Brigham Young University and possibly studying elementary ed," said Robinson.

In her free time Shayla stays busy by teaching dance, playing three sports and staying active in youth group.

"I teach clogging lessons at Sears Dance Academy and I teach 10-year-olds and their a lot of fun," said Robinson.

Striving for the best in all aspects of life makes Shayla Robinson this week's P1FCU Prep Athlete of the Week.
